EFMD

The European Foundation for Management Development is an international, membership driven organisation, based in Brussels. With more than 700 member organisations from academia, business, public service and consultancy in over 80 different countries, EFMD acts as a catalyst to promote and enhance excellence in management development in Europe and worldwide. EFMD is the only international network in the field of management development which covers 470 business school members (310 business schools from Europe and 160 from outside of Europe).

EFMD is recognised globally as an accreditation body of quality in management education and has established accreditation services for business schools and 48

business school programmes, corporate universities and technology-enhanced learning programmes.

The European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. Its scope covers all programmes offered by an institution from the first degree up to the PhD, including non-degree programmes. 115 schools have so far been accredited from across 33 different countries.

EPAS is an international programme accreditation system operated by EFMD. It aims to evaluate the quality of any business and/or management programme that has an international perspective and, where of an appropriately high quality, to accredit it.

EFMD acts as the secretariat of EQUAL. EQUAL is a network of networks and its mission is to act as a think tank and policy development organisation in Europe (primarily), for international business and management education, training, research and development for the benefit of member schools, students, end users and society at large.
