Stakeholder consultation
The inclusion of the perspectives of stakeholders is regarded by the consortium as a vital instrument to build a coherent transparency tool, to assess and gain social acceptance for it and for the dimensions and indicators we will develop for it. Rankings that want to be clear about their purpose and target groups need input from, and feedback by, the relevant stakeholders. The stakeholders will therefore be involved both in the design and the pilot phase
For the stakeholder consultation, a stakeholder group was created. This group comprises representatives of higher education and research institutions’ organizations; students’ organisations; social partners’ associations; regional associations; intergovernmental platforms and networks; quality assurance agency organizations; field associations in the two fields included: engineering and business studies.
Here you can find an overview of the stakeholder involvement throughout the process.
Events
In total four meetings with the stakeholder group took place, discussing different stages of the project.
The first meeting of the stakeholder group was in Brussels on 8 October 2009. A short report on that meeting can be found on this page.
A second meeting was on 17 December 2009. In this workshop the list of indicators for the rankings were discussed.
A third meeting was on 5 November 2010. The objective of the workshop was to discuss visualization and presentation aspects of the ranking: how to present a ranking in a user-friendly way? How and whether to aggregate information? How to combine comprehensiveness and rigor with clarity and simplicity?
The final workshop took place at 05 May 2011 in Brussels. In this workshop the observations from the pilot phase were discussed as well as the future of U-Multirank.
